MOT…

Moments of truth (MOT) define us. We all know this. We don’t remember most of our lives. We all have moments, however, we cannot forget. The birth of our children. The first time we experience the loss of a loved one. The moment our brakes go out on the top of a mountain. The call we dread. The shot we made. The clarity that came. The love we lost. The love we found. The victory we should have lost. The list goes on and on. MOT define us.

Yesterday, Gu showed up at OSU. He and The Wizard spoke truth to a team of five grapplers. The Wizard talked about being a four time NCAA champ at North Carolina. Her MOT came mostly at practice. Her job as Goalkeeper was to stop Mia Hamm. Gu told the story of losing his son. He did not go dark. He found light. His faith, his brilliance, his command of the English language, and his humility left the grapplers wanting more.

Yesterday, Mirann made her presence felt. She owns her stuff and is learning how to own moments of truth with her team. She, like you, cannot control circumstances or other people. She is gaining control of herself and not stopping there. She is becoming BTL. Her team wants her at the front and she is slowly getting comfortable with the reins in her hands. I could go on. Let’s stop.

MOT are coming. Are you preloading how you’ll respond? You and I are defined by pressure. What comes out of an orange under pressure? Whatever’s inside. What comes out of you when the heat is on, friend? Remember this truth. Whatever’s been in there all along. You beginning to see why it’s so important what beliefs are bolted onto your CORE?

Live hard. Love harder. Own it…
