Addicts…

Did you know CEO’s are as likely to become addicts as just about any other population group? Lawyers lead America in depression, divorce, death from addictions, and death from suicide?

CEO’s and Lawyers are leading in a number of categories (see above) that we would NOT aspire and one, I guess, we must.  You see, they also lead the way in terms of income. In fact, Lawyers just recently surpassed docs as the highest per capita people on this planet.  We already know where CEO’s sit on this subject. In contrast to what we “mouth,” we are mostly about one thing.

Show me the money!

Forget the pain and the price, send me to the top of the system and shower me with POWER. Sadly, as these wildly successful CEO’s hire shrinks, counselors, biofeedback specialists, sleep docs, Pastors, consultants, pain medicine specialists, physical therapists, personal trainers, and countless full time associates who bow before them while bringing their own sack of lies, here’s what they desperately desire.

ONE human who understands them.

You see, one of the leading causes of “CEO” disease and Lawyer malaise is one as well.  Sadly this is the leading cause for so many forms of addictions and may be one of the reasons you are moving from pot and molly to black tar and oxycotin. You see, addicts are built slowly as they move from experimenting at some entry level to ever deepening levels until they’re drowning. One of the root causes?

One man or woman who feels deeply divided and desperately alone.

You see, CEO’s, Lawyers, and you have more in common than you think. All humans are meant to have a hand to hold onto. All the great stories remind us of this truth. Froto had Sam. John & Abagail. We are not made to go it alone. We must not. We gotta go together and at the same time get comfortable alone. And, this is why my favorite, frequent prayer is some kinda ccd magic for me.

God, help me.

Do you know who you are? Do you know what you believe about the big questions in life? Do you know where you’re going and WHY you so desperately want to get there? Are you struggling to cope, or confident in what gives you hope? And, are you a true friend to at least one? You gotta give, give, give and get comfortable on your own. You see, regardless one’s position or power, we all gotta learn to deal with pain. There is no easy way through life. God, help us all.

Live hard. Love harder…
