Fight…

All teams fight. Fact. The best teams fight to improve performance, not prove a point. Everyday, and I mean EVERYFREAKINDAY, I lead team practices where the leaders know the fight they’re avoiding. Having it would help and hurt. It would not harm. Instead of jumping in and simply having it, they kick the can down the road. Hope the problem will solve itself. It does not. It grows. Truth.

What fight are you avoiding, leader? Why? Are you fighting to prove a point? Don’t bother. Is your fight to improve performance? Start it now. Problems are stinky cheese – they don’t age well. Chronic pain is best eliminated with acute pain. It will only hurt for a very short while. Individual contributors make themselves better. Leaders make teammates better. You’ve been reminded.

Live hard. Love harder. Fight for it…
