Today, Jordan, Paul, Brian, and I teed it up for a round of golf. Was an epic round filled with a couple birdies, only a few bogeys, and a bunch of pars. We had a great time together. However, as we walked up to the 13th green, I checked my phone to see how far we had walked. Was surprised by a text from one of my friends/clients. It was stunning news.
One of his friends was cycling last evening with his brother when they were both hit and killed by a drunk driver. They were in their old stomping grounds for their sisters wedding weekend. Stopped me in my tracks as I was again reminded of the brevity of this life. They were 31 and 29 years young. Gone in an instant.
You never know, friend, when you’ll breathe your last. Know this. We are all hanging by a thread. Take nothing for granted. Live hard. Love harder. Forgive easily. Smile readily. Hold your hugs a few seconds longer. Stop the incessant worry. Slow down. Be where your feet are. Breathe. Thank God for it all. Thanks, God, for the blessing of this day. Be with this hurting family. Hold them in your hands. God, help them. God, help us all.
Live hard. Love harder…

Prayers, prayers, and more prayers, Toto… I lost my baby sister’s husband and beloved brother-in-law Mark at age 33 in a bike accident in 1995. Love to all and it is not the end.
Prayers for you and yours John!
