There is no reference to retirement in The Bible.
We are immortal beings living in physical bodies for seventyish years or so, give or take some decades. God is calling us to an adventure designed to move our very souls. It could be the adventure of raising Cain or building beautiful homes. It could be nearly anything and it won’t come easily. Only chosen suffering will lead us on the path to our calling. It. Will. Be. Worth. It.
Pain is inevitable, misery is a choice. Hear God’s call. Listen for it. Yearn for it. And, respond with all you’ve got. Full gas till you pass. Joy will fill your heart as you pour yourself into worthy OPUS. Live like this. Damn.

My personal issues aside, 100% in agreement with your retirement rant. This life is the ‘preseason’ to an eternity of opus living—work and play become one when we’re home with our Lord and Savior. It seems shortsighted to quit before our time is up here.
In the meantime, enjoy the time with the clan in Berlin!
