The grass is always greener where you water it. The popular cliche tells us something different. You know, the grass is greener on the other side. Not true.
Recently, I’ve made a mess of things. Forgot to pay my Medicare supplemental care. Messed up in Berlin too. Got caught up in the moment with Aedán and forgot to tell his mom we were out riding his bike. Had many bummers with one of our children. Didn’t do so well with a variety of other details too. Details, you see, disturb me. Plenty of depressing events always.
Much more good going down.
The truth is likely applicable to you, my friend. You’ve likely made a mess of stuff and your brain wants you to ruminate and get all down on your sorriness. Remember this. Hard on self, not down on self. This is the recipe for chasing excellence. Clean up your messes. Learn from ’em. Don’t dwell on them. Do not water your negative emotions. It’s alright to be down, just don’t take up residence there. Water the good. It’s there. Find it. Keep it. Damn.
Live hard. Love ❤️ harder…

Thanks for your transparency. Having just turned 73, when I forget something I find myself worried that I’m sliding down that slippery slope of brain fade that ends in assisted living where I don’t recognize my own children. Sometimes I forget how forgetful I am – and always have been. It’s the human condition, as GuRue says, “We have an F-ing problem.” It’s good to be reminded, again, it’s not just me!
I can relate to your fears. Thanks for sharing. God bless…
