A client of mine wrote about his consistent worry that he’s overworking his best people. So I asked him when he last asked them if they feel overworked? He hadn’t. Funny. Slow down, ask the obvious questions. If worry is consuming you, time to write or go get curious.
We tend to spend so much time stuck in emotions that drain us. Treat your emotions like indicators – they’re alerting you to something. Like a dashboard light. When that internal light goes off, don’t ignore it, go lift up the hood and figure out what’s going on. Writing is the quickest way to do that if you’re unsure or unclear. Then go act.
