Fair, not equal…

Yesterday, during a freakin’ magic one on one practice, we worked through a real, hard, problem with a mediocre performer. The leader was focused on being fair and had it confused with equal. After an hour practice, clarity came rather quickly. Good.

Fair not equal is the one you want.

Cheat toward the few. Build into everyone. Pour into your few. This is fair, not equal.

If you’re running a rec team of six or seven year olds? Yeah, play them all as close to equally as you can. Give them all similar opportunities and attention. They’re little kids. If you’re leading a collegiate team or a team of professionals treat them as such. They don’t deserve equal, time, attention or opportunity. It’s a freakin’ meritocracy and lead it as such. Fair, not equal. Damn.

Live hard. Love ❤️ harder…
