Leaders…

Leaders are believers. This is the seminal thought throughout all of BTL. Recently, I told a team of golfers this truth. An imperfect swing (think Arnold Palmer) filled with belief is much better than a beautiful swing filled with fear. Fact. Here’s another leadership truth.

Rarely does a teams belief exceed the belief of their leader. This is true in families, communities, companies, and couples. Sports? Of course.

Want a better team, become a better leader.

Believe. Deepen your belief and connect your team to it. Initiate. Never stop. Your job, leader, is to believe before the team does. Once they do? Believe even more. Show me a team with some talent and great belief? I’ll take them any day over a team with great talent and weak belief.

Humans perish without belief. Study history, you’ll see this is true.

Teams thrive when led by a believer. MLK led an entire country without positional power. Ghandi led all of India. And, of course, Jesus led the 12 (still multiplying today). Are you a believer? Are you believable? Are you connecting your team to your dreams and getting them to believe in theirs?

You are not a leader unless your team shows me you are. Slow down. Reflect. Where, leader, are you limiting your team with a lack of belief? What we gonna do about this? Damn.

Live hard. Love ❤️ harder…
