Clint Eastwood was filming The Mule back in 2018. Toby Keith was playing golf with him at Pebble Beach. Clint, age 88, had a pep in his step Toby couldn’t help but notice. So, he got curious and asked what’s up.
“I never let the old man in,” was Clint’s ccd response. Damn.
This one really rings true to my sorriness. Rang true to Toby too. So, he wrote a song about it almost immediately. Clint liked it too. Stuck it in his movie. Give it a listen. You won’t be disappointed.
Leaders are believers. Connectors too. Leaders initiate. How ’bout you?
You are not done. You are not too much or too little. Do not let age and others define you. You, friend, are a child of God. You see, in light of eternity, this whole experience on planet earth is early childhood stuff. Let’s act more like our real age. Don’t let the old man in. Thanks Clint and Toby for the timely reminder. And, friend, remember to grab a hand and give some care. Grab a hand and recieve some too. You and I are NOT designed to go it alone. Together we transform. Always together. Thank God.
I’m looking out my office window and smiling. Aint letting the old man in. God, help me see things through your glasses; my very limited lens, not so much. God, help me remember you designed me to burn out bright. Flickering, flickering, and slowing fading away should be reserved for candles. Amen.
Live hard. Love ❤️ harder…
