Recently I sat in on a client strategy session. It was French to me. I’m no expert on the intricacies of their business. So, after listening to the differences in their strategy, one of the leaders asked me what I think.
My ccd sharing was simple. They had vision collision. One believed the best way ’round was to elevate their game. Higher level strategy. More adjustments. The other believed they simply needed to “stick to their knitting.” Do what they do and do it a bit better. I reminded them of this truth.
Simple strategy, executed well, beats a great strategy poorly executed.
Everyfreakin’time. How ’bout you leader. Are you asking your team to execute something they can do or trying to get them to be something they are not? We judge leaders NOT on what they know, remember. We judge leaders on what the team learns. Put the cookies on the bottom shelf. Simple, not easy. Damn.
Live hard. Love ❤️ harder…
