When asked how he created one of his most famous masterpieces, The David, Michelangelo responded that David was there all along – he just chipped away at everything that wasn’t David, until David was all that was left. BTL Identity work is much the same. The real you is there, always has been. The work is to chip away at the bullshit identities we take on to please others, or to protect ourselves. All the names we call ourselves that aren’t actually us at our core.
Chip away at it until you find the real you, the real names you want to call yourself. Live those out fearlessly – that’s the makings of a masterpiece life. What’s an identity that isn’t serving you? That isn’t true to who you really are? What’s the true identity that you want to live more in alignment with? And what baby steps do you want to take to do so?
