Keep working…

Keep working is one of my mantras. I remind myself to keep working when I ride, write, read, exercise my core, and when strengthening my BTL CORE. Keep working is my way of telling myself quitting is NOT an option.

The dude on the far left is jmo. He’s battled melanoma for years. Was told he had months left, in fact, years ago. He’s the strongest dude in the 3PP. Fact. Little dude next to him? That would be Littlest. He may be short in stature but he’s strong as an ox. Had 5 surgeries in one year recently. He’s dealing with wrecked Achilles. Still working. Still riding. Still grandparenting at the top of his game. Next to him is Blondie.

Blondie has had the least near death moments of the bunch, but he too has had his. He keeps coming to the 3PP and every ride. Pulls like a banshee. Downer is the dude right behind me. We thought we might lose him in France back in 2019. His heart went haywire on one of the out of category climbs we rode back then. He wouldn’t stop. Eventually we would take him to a hospital in France. Bad idea. We learned all the doc’s are in the ambulances. Had surgery to repair his hearts electrical function. Rides like the wind now. Not done. Not even close. We were missing Brother Mick and Peej today. Brother Mick is our resident doc. Saved my sorriness a few years back. Peej is our young pup. He makes us remember what we were once. He’s riding the Alps at the moment with other friends. Freakin’ magic.

Then there’s me. Been through a bit and happy to be still working out with these strong men. They make me better. Make me do more than I think I can. And, make me laugh while doing it. Together we transform. Always together. What, friend, are you thinking you can’t do anymore? Who could you ask to attempt it with you? What friend of yours needs some encouragement to get off the couch? Give and take care, remember. Give more. Today was 56 miles with friends. Flew by even though we went Slo compared to just a few years ago. In my mind? We’re still flying. Damn.

Live hard. Love harder…
