KISS (Keep it simple, stupid) is a well known design principle first coined by the US Navy back in 1960. It’s a great reminder of the power of “making things as simple as possible” – a phrase coined earlier by a dude named Einstein.
During a recent BTL team practice, I shared my tweak to said principle. Here it is. This might be huge.
Keep it stupid simple.
Not even a true word change, just a change in their order. The one makes a character judgement. The second does not. I tend to NOT makes things as simple as I think they are. The curse of knowledge (once you know something you forget what it was like not to) grabs me hard. Hopefully, if you’re in BTL team practice, you’ll notice me attempting my version of the KISS principle. The world is crazy busy and getting more so. Whatever you’re trying to do remember your audience is barely paying attention. ACT accordingly. Keep it stupid simple.
Live hard. Love harder…
