Clarity of vision

Clarity of vision drives clarity of decisions. Or as Chet and others have written, know your why, know your way. If you don’t have a crystal clear vision for where you and your team are headed, your decision making will be muddled at best. In times of chaos you’ll feel overwhelmed, lost, confused, anxious, befuddled. In good times you’ll likely still feel complacent and/or aimless.

A crystal clear vision drives action. It makes the next step far more obvious and compelling. It gives a deep why for doing a hard thing. It gives juice to get through a hard time.

Stop neglecting the hard work of crystallizing your vision. And then once you’ve got it, share it like crazy. Share it until you hear people saying it back, and then keep sharing it. You can’t be too clear, leader.

  1. Yes … the message is so very true for those of us who are in Sales, which is just about everyone.

Or better stated, in the film, Planes, Trains and Automobiles… ‘when you tell a story… have a point… it’s so much more interesting to the listener’

    (Steve Martin to John Candy)

    Brilliant!
