Marry the mundane. That was the big melody line in a team practice the other day. I hear lots of excuses when people don’t get their productive actions done. I’m so busy (that never changes), life got in the way, blah blah blah. All BS. Do it or don’t, but stop making excuses and lying to yourself.
Practice a discipline. One that makes you better. And then fricking do it. People who stay stuck make excuses. People who stay asleep make excuses. People who don’t become what they’re capable of…they make excuses like crazy. It’s your life, not mine. What do you want to do with it? Live it or just go through the motions of living it while scurrying around getting “important things” done? Choice is yours.
Pick a discipline, marry the mundane. Do the hard, small, consistent work of excellence and repeat it, over and over. That’s how you get out of hamster mode and start living life.
