What’s the difference between a leader with a vision for change and an individual risk taker? The leader creates conditions that make it safe to take manageable risks.

This goes right back to Google’s study on psychological safety. Leaders drive for change…sometimes BIG change.  AND they both do it in an iterative fashion (rather than always going for broke) while creating an environment where mistakes are fodder for learning rather than opportunities for punishment.

Progress and growth require mistakes. Make them manageable by iterating. Create the right environment and people will relish the hard process of change alongside you and the team.
