Leisure for the sake of leisure. Leisure because we are not meant to be only workers. Leisure because it is good to leisure. Not because it makes you more productive, or because you can get things done in your leisure time. Leisure is a good, in and of itself.
Travel the world because it is good to travel the world. To enjoy and experience this one beautiful life, and this crazy planet we’re fortunate to be living on. Enjoy it as an end unto itself, rather than as a means to store up an experience that will somehow mean you used your time well.
Leisure does not need to be justified in economic or capitalist terms. If we go down that rabbit hole it ends up feeling like yet another to-do rather than an integral part of being human. We are not productivity machines. We are human beings. So BE. Be fully at work when you’re working. Leisure with gusto when you’re at rest. Travel and soak it up for its own sake. Be.
