Yesterday, during an amazing BTL team practice, a freshmen jumped his teammates with hard truth. They had been assigned a PA from our last practice and 60% of the squad had not done it. He wants to win a Natty and said this isn’t the way to get there. Spoke truth in Love with an edge. He’s been here a few months. Led us. The team did not eject him. They looked in the mirror. Owned it. Led to amazing conversation. We shall see what they do about it. One thing I know.
Freshmen led is possible. My first leadership gig in the world of work was at age 25. Everyone in the office was older than me. Jordan was born the same year. Had to learn how to lead my son and a team of cagey veterans at the same time. Taught me a lot.
You’re not too young or too old. Stop focusing on your age/tenure or the age of those around you. See something. Say something. Lead. Damn.
Live hard. Love ❤️ harder…
