STFD…

Faceytimed with a client yesterday. Felt good to get back to some opus, even while I’m dragging ASS. Food is the first medicine. Opus might be the second. Nothing lifts my spirits like knowing I’m lifting another’s. Funny the lifting process oftentimes feels like it’s kicking another’s ASS not lifting em up. Remember, I believe our chief want in life is someone who will make us do what we can. Damn.

So as I listened to my sped up client throw up his current concerns regarding his work and this work of ours, I waited patiently for him to come up for a breath. Took awhile. He’s one busy, productive, hustling, kinda leader. Never on time. Always after the hack. Outcomes the singular objective. Normal.

When he stopped his rant, looked at me, his first words were classic – “So, Chet, whatcha got?” Oh, dear Lord, I had more, much more, than the moment called for. I offered instead a curious question. “What’s the greatest enemy of anyone becoming BTL, I asked.” His knee jerk response was a good one. Me, he said, emphatically. What about you exactly, I asked. He blathered on and on. Rattled off lots of smart stuff. All were relevant. None were from the heart. All head. Missed the mark. So, after minutes of listening and looking at his tired, hard working eyes, he grew exasperated. “Chet, WTF is it?” Smiling I gave him the answer he wasn’t looking for.

Speed.

The world wants to speed you up. CORE, OPUS, and PoP take time. Lots of time. Oh, when you get them right? They redeem time. Game, freakin’ changer. Fact. But, you cannot rush the process of becoming the original you already are. The world wants you too busy to think. Fill your time with good things, just not your highest, best ones. Only you (and God) know the keys to unlock you becoming the CEO of Y.O.U. So, I told him back off the other PA’s. Day at a time in BBTL. Slow it down, again. CORE work only. Retrace your steps. Rinse and repeat. He smiled. Knew I had a lawyers argument waiting. He’s slowing down to eventually speedthehellup. Cannot rush the process, friends. Likely the enemy is somewhat similar for your sorriness. The need for speed is everywhere. Like I told my sped up client – STFD.

Slow the f#@$ down. STFD. Where, friend, do you need to STOP wrestling and rest instead? Damn.

Matthew 11:28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Live hard. Love ❤️ harder…
