Homeostasis is the state of steady internal physical and chemical conditions maintained by living organisms. Our bodies run best when in this steady state. Sickness knocks the system out of whack. Homeostasis is a distant memory. Your body works it’s ASS off to simply return to equilibrium. This is unchosen suffering.
Trying to do something uncomfortable and out of reach of your “normal” abilities knocks the system out of homeostasis too. This is growth. Working on a change in your “perfectly good” golf swing is chosen suffering. It’s going to cause you some pain to go through the change. You’ll get worse before you get better.
High performers know this.
They understand homeostasis is good and it’s the enemy of great. They pick and choose when and where to make changes. This is why your CORE is so important. The stronger in your CORE, the clearer you are in your need to disrupt parts of your healthy system to make them more resilient. You strategically drive the change before the universe forces your hand. When you’re sick, an authentic OPUS keeps you inspired to get well and better maintain the engine as you discover where you’ve over revved the bad boy and made it susceptible to outside bugs and bacteria. Homeostasis is good. I’m looking forward to its return.
Living a life worth living is disruptive.
Requires risk taking and jumps into the unknown. This is dangerous. And good. A wise person understands their system and chooses to change it up strategically. And, they know when to slow it down and reset. Do you?
God, help me return to homeostasis. God, help me be patient with myself. God, help me know when to push limits too. God, help me remember as long as I’m breathing, I’m good. God, help me use down time to levelthehellup. God, help me trust and rest in you. God, help me…
Live hard. Love ❤️ harder…
