Way back when I was in grade school, we had a day every so often when one of the kids was responsible for show and tell, as the teacher called it. You were allowed to bring something into school that meant something to you and show it to us. You told the team about it too. Here’s what I’ve learned about show and tell over the many moons since Franklin elementary.
Showing > telling.
Leaders stop using so many words telling your team what you want done. Show them. We learn mostly by imitating. Show them how you want it done. Show them. Make them show you. Remember this truth.
Well done > well said.
Show them what well done looks like. Put it on repeat. STOP worrying about your words. Speak truth. Takes only a few words. Show more. I wish I knew half this stuff back when I was your age. Damn.
Live hard. Love ❤️ harder…
