High performers want to be coached hard and want to be held to a higher standard. High performers don’t sit around hoping someone will coach them harder, they ask for it. Demand it even. And if their leader won’t give them the coaching, they find someone who will.
High performers act. They move. When they aren’t growing fast enough, they figure it out and level up. They have a high degree of agency and a desire for autonomy. They move the world around them, starting with themselves.
Stop sitting around hoping someone will give you the coaching you crave, or recognize the hard work you’re doing. No pity parties, simply perform. Connect your leader to your performance and ask for more feedback. Do enough good work and it will be recognized. And if it’s not, you’ll find another place that will. Start acting.
