The Messy Middle…

The fact is we are all in the messy middle in some area of our life.  The trough of a journey between the triumphant start and the destination where the universe will really challenge your mettle to see if you want to stay on the path.  Fear can settle in like a dense fog and blind us to why we even started this in the first place.  This can stop us right in our tracks.

I’ll never forget watching a documentary when I was younger about mental health that followed a few individuals that wanted to beat their mental health problems out of their body by climbing the tallest mountain on earth: Mt Everest.

This pack of climbers realized if you physically exhaust yourself to the point that Mt Everest requires, miraculously the brain begins to shut off its insanity.

This same group was also one of the unlucky pack of souls that got caught in a white out blizzard somewhere short of the summit and it did not clear quickly. In fact, it lasted all night above the death zone.

What did the few that survived do? They kept moving. Karate chopping, crawling, whatever it took to keep blood flow moving.

Whatever messy middle you are in you must keep going.  Do not let the fear stop you in your tracks. Have faith that the blizzard will pass.

Pick a baby step, a crawl or a karate chop to keep the momentum moving forward in the part of your life you feel stuck in the messy middle. This too shall pass..
