Gayle…

It will help to read my previous post titled “Gone” before reading this one.

Me and Miss are back.

We came home early…not according to our plan. Our “plans” were interrupted. You see…we are not in control.

Our brother Gayle is gone. He had a heart attack last wednesday and left us all behind. He has gone to Heaven to be with his Lord. He was a good man. He will be missed by many.

We will see Gayle again.

I plan to live like King Philip of ancient Macedonia and remind myself each day, as he did, of my mortality. One day, we will all be gone.

I plan to burn out bright. I plan to live like I know where I’m going. I plan to pursue my BIG dreams for my work and life. I plan to also go with the flow. I plan to LOVE more and more before I go. I plan to learn and to laugh. I plan to fall and to fail. I plan on getting back up. I plan on getting better…I have a LONG way to go you know! I plan to do a lot of things before I’m gone. I am not planning to go HOME early.

My plans are not under my control. I still plan, prepare, and dare to dream. I am getting more comfortable knowing that I am not in control.

What are your plans?

Are you living out your BIG dreams?

Are you living like King Louis XIV and “forbiding” the use of the word DEATH?

Are you living like Philip and constantly reminding yourself of your mortality?

Do you know where you’re going?

Do you know what you BELIEVE about the BIG questions of life?

As my good friend Kary always reminds me….”redeem the day” my friend.

Burn out bright.

Gayle did.

  1. Our prayers are covering you, Miss, Taylor and all of your family. So sorry to hear of the loss of Gayle. Prescient blog before you left, Chet. We join you in rejoicing Gayle’s homecoming to His heavenly Father. Hugs to all.

  2. I’m sorry for your loss but rejoice in knowing that Gayle is with our heavenly father. I know one day you will hear the Lord say, “Great job my faithful servant” because your light shines bright for all to see.

Blessings to you and your family,
    Tracy
