Most every client I have or have had tells me they do. They have hired me with the hopes of getting it, or at least getting a little closer. They want to live a high performance life with a high performance team.
Here is my message to you and to them. Let me practice being clear, concise, and direct.
A high performance life with a high performance team is possible. It is, however, very rare.
High performance marriages are possible too. They are even rarer. Much rarer, if we are honest with ourselves.
Why?
Because high performance requires HIGH maintenance.
“He’s just sooooo needy.”
“She is never satisfied.”
“This is so kindergarten.”
“He sends way toooo many emails.”
“She is soooooo HIGH maintenance.”
“I don’t have time for this…I’ve got REAL work to do.”
Yes you do.
The real work of every leader is to build a high performance team of individuals, teams, and leaders that is committed to excellence. This is REAL work. This is rarely done.
This is REAL.
This is HARD.
This is WORK.
Do you still want High PERFORMANCE?
If so, get ready to embrace a whole lot of HIGH MAINTENANCE.
This will be true in work and in life.
Chemistry just LOOKS easy. It is not easy. I want to live a high performance life with high performance family, friends, and clients. This will be sooo cool.
