As most of you know, C.S. Lewis is one of my favorite authors. I recommend all his books for the person that is serious about discovering, cultivating, and strengthening their inner life…in BTL terms, their CORE. Every persons CORE is held together, for better or worse, by what you believe about the BIG questions of life. Your CORE starts with the discovery and strengthening of your WORLDVIEW.
As I was re-reading some Lewis this morning I came across this from his book titled, Mere Christianity. Check it out.
“Creatures are not born with desires unless satisfaction for those desires exists. A baby feels hunger; well, there is such a thing as food. A duckling wants to swim: well, there is such a thing as water. Men feel sexual desire: well, there is such a thing as sex. If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.”
