Fathers are many things. Fathers work. They make a living. They support a family. They are providers. They are strong and demonstrate this strength with their “heavy lifting.” Fathers protect. They protect their wives and their sons and daughters. Fathers… I could go on.
I’ll stop.
Fathers do have many jobs. Here’s one that I would like to argue is paramount. This is the hardest and the most rewarding. Here it is. Do NOT miss this one. Do not substitute.
Fathers SUBMIT.
Submit to your heavenly FATHER.
Submit to your earthly father.
Sell out completely to your bride AND…
Show your children what it means to be a HU-man.
Hey all you fathers, what do you believe is your paramount calling?
What voice drives you to work?
What voice calms you as you return from “the hunt?”
What voice are you listening to right now?
Are you drinking from the right well?
Tell me more.
Thanks for listening and please…
Have a wonderful fathers day everybody.

More than anything, Chet, you taught me that fathers must show their families how to make a life, not merely a living. To “do what you are” is ultimately what success actually IS. It is the JOURNEY to BUILD your personal awareness of your personal DESIGN, and then to submit to the Designer and bring your “utmost for his highest” purpose. Other than love, and this example, everything else a father can give his children eventually reaches saturation and then becomes a problem, like money, toys, stuff. Showing them how to do what they are and thereby make a fruitful life…it doesn’t get any better than that.
