Yesterday was great day of practice with one of my favorite teams. Yesterday was also a bit of a pain. Here’s a piece of the why.
Yesterday, I played with a new approach to practice. The old one works. The old way works pretty well. The road to excellence, though, requires a little bit more. I cannot ask my clients to always be under construction and in the same breath, continue riding my own, well rutted road.
Yesterday’s practice was NOT a flow experience for me. I followed a new recipe for only the second or third rinse. Much repeating and revising are in order. This process is a bit of a pain. It would be easier to simply repeat the model and leave it at that. It would be easier.
Excellence is NOT for those who are seeking easy street.
Choose this pain NOW.
Remember, the road is broad that leads to mediocrity. This road is highly traveled. Choose the road less traveled. Pain is inevitable, but misery is a choice.
