“Learning” to overcome fear

I love learning.   And love-tos supercede fear-ofs.   To overcome fear, LEARN.

What is something positive that you can shift your mind onto LEARNING that will help you get your focus off the current crisis and your fears?

Maybe that means learning “to see your shore” (see Chet’s blog of Nov 11) so that you don’t stay in a fog where worries take on a life of their own.

Maybe that’s learning to say “where’s my target” like Tiger Woods talks about in Fearless Golf, and practicing that discipline so that you can do it con-fide-ntly  (lit. with faith) when it really counts, even when the obstacles seem bigger than usual.

Maybe it’s practicing “Changing your Questions, Change Your Life”, so that you don’t remain in worry-mode or judger-mode when tough times hit or bad things happen — according to author Marilee Adams, learning shifts the brain into a productive, positive mindset — releasing creativity and productive ACTION.    In every adversity is an opportunity for those who are able to get out of denial & deliberation — to the point of making new decisions.

Who can you do it WITH?

Who will you INSPIRE as you do so?

Leaders are believers, and they believe in learning, especially in the face of fear.   In the face of a learner, you can see the shore — it’s reflected in their eyes.
