Think of fear as a drug…

Think of fear as a drug.

You wouldn’t decide whom to marry while in a drunken state.  You would NOT decide which stock to sell while you were “high.”  You would NOT operate your vehicle after a “few too many.”  You wouldn’t decide to buy a new vacation home while you were on “pain killers.”  You wouldn’t give advice to your teenage son or daughter after doing some heroin.

Think of FEAR as a drug.

You will make much better decisions once you identify your fear, face it, understand it, talk about it, and then decide how to ACT into it.  Think of FEAR as a drug, and stop making decisions when you are full of it.  FEAR that is.

Think of FEAR as a drug.

Fear tells you to conform, to play it safe, to sell at “the bottom,” to reduce your way to high performance, to listen to the herd, to reject your thoughts and ideas when you are forced to stand alone, to give in, to give up, and to adopt the thinking pattern of the alcoholic and just “have another.”  Most of our fears are misplaced thinking and are rooted in our history.  Ancient history at that.

Think of FEAR as a drug.  AND, unlike normal drugs, remember that this one does NOT come into us from the outside.  FEAR is from within us and comes out of us, mostly, in the form of bad decisions.  You will never rid yourself of fear and neither will I.  We both can, however, sense when we are overcome by fear, slow ourselves down, and develop the habit of understanding it’s roots and choose to “soberly” ACT our way through to the other side.

Yes we can.
