Addictions…

Did you know that CEO’s are more likely to become addicts than just about any other population group?  Did you know that Lawyers lead America in depression, divorce, death from addictions, and death from suicide?

CEO’s and Lawyers are leading the way, it seems.  They are leading in a number of categories (see above) that we would NOT aspire and one, I guess, that we must.  You see, they also lead the way in terms of income.

They make some serious coinage.

In fact, Lawyers just recently surpassed M.D.’s as the highest per capita people on this planet.  We already know where CEO’s sit on this subject.  So…..one is left with the facts staring us in the face.  In contrast to what we “mouth,” we are mostly about one thing.

Show me the money!

Forget the pain and the price, send me to the TOP of the pyramid and shower me with POWER.

Sadly, as these wildly successful CEO’s hire me, shrinks, counselors, biofeedback specialists, sleep Doctors, Pastors, consultants, pain medicine specialists, physical therapists, personal trainers, and countless full time associates, here’s what they desperately desire.

ONE.

ONE human.

ONE human that understands them.

You see, the leading cause of “CEO” disease and Lawyer malaise is one as well.  AND, sadly this same cause is the leading cause for so many forms of addictions.  The leading cause is not the only cause.  There are many contributing factors and far too many complexities to discuss here.  However, if you are interested in the topic, I recommend a starter book that is based in reality and also written for the non- clinician. The book is titled, Cracked, and is authored by Dr. Drew Pinsky.  Check it out. Moving on.  The leading cause, again, is…

one.

one human.

one man or woman that “feels” like they are ALONE.

Do you know who you are?

Do you know what you believe about the big questions in life?

Do you know where you’re going and WHY you so desperately want to go there?

Do you have a VISION worth giving your whole hearted self in service toward?

Do you have at least one “true friend?”

Tell me more…

  1. I get frustrated when I think I am headed in a direction and something happens that makes me think about your “Do you know” questions. I am not as assure of myself as most of your clients are but I was talking to another carpenter about always seeming to get side tracked on a goal that seems so clear. He simply said, (without any time to think or come up with some deep thought cliche’), “if you get everything when and where you want it, getting it wouldn’t feel like an accomplishment, just another notch on the belt.” I thought about it some and have realized(for now) I may not be able to answer with a clear and concise view, but when I become clear and concise about
Do you Know who you are?
Do you know what you believe?
    Do you know where
It will feel great knowing that it wasn’t easy, but I got there.

One thing I can answer is Do you have at least one true friend?
    Thanks for the Blogs
