Golf…

“I played golf to be with him.  He played golf to beat me.”

As she told me this story this morning my thoughts were a mix of curiosity and sadness.  She was talking about someone that is no longer with us.  Someone that she had loved and admired.  Someone that had led a great team to dizzying heights and someone that had loved to compete.  AND, someone that, I’m certain, would love the chance to make things right…

If he could.  The truth is…

He cannot.

Do you know why you compete?

Do you know what you believe about that fact?

Do you understand that most of your team simply wants to be with you regardless of the outcome, regardless the score, regardless the cost, regardless the effort, and regardless of how it appears?

Do you know how you want to be remembered once you’re GONE?

Do you know that this life is not a dress rehearsal?

Tell me more, my friend.

Tell me more…
