I had coffee this morning with Tom Suddes the founder and owner of ,”For Impact / The Suddes Group”. Tom has been managing fund raising campaigns all over the United States for non profit groups, colleges, chamber of commerce, religious institutions and foundations. Tom is the master in his field, this guy has easily made over 6,000 calls/presentations to would be donors/prospects in his 30 year career……call reluctance is not in the mans vocabulary. I love to see people who have gained real “Mastery” in their field and Tom is the Master!
It became very clear to me after about a 2 hour conversation why this man has enjoyed such a great life personally and professionally. Why he enjoys good friendships and why he is admired by so many young people.
Tom has developed a Strong Inner CORE and Excellent Habits that feed and nurture this CORE.
- He is Devoted to His Family……..married 38 years and now has a slew of grand kids that he adores…….AND makes time for.
- He has been a Life Long Learner……… he’ a voracious reader, he has an incredible network of smart people who are constantly feeding him new ideas, good books, new insights and the newest trends to watch and study.
- He Exercises Everyday …….whether it’s walking, biking, light lifting or a fitness boxing regiment he has been doing for 30 years. The man looks 10 years younger than his age, he is filled with energy and a HUGE AMOUNT OF PASSION!!
- He is Not About Perfection……Tom has had his share of set backs and missed opportunities and he has learned valuable lessons from each experience……..he simply doesn’t recognize the word ‘failure’……just one more learning experience.
- He Gives Back…….Tom spends 6 weeks out of every year (Jan./Feb.) at Notre Dame University, coaching the Boxing Program for the annual Boxing Bouts/Tournament, that is held for one reason……to raise money for the poor, the starving of Bangladesh. Tom donates his time to these young adults at Notre Dame and this event is a huge success each year raising thousands of dollars with every dollar going to charity.
Tom Suddes has been very deliberate about how he has chosen to live his life. He has developed a strong inner core and the habits that you see in all great leaders.
Tom Suddes is living his OPUS!
Are you living your OPUS?
What habits have you developed that feed and nurture a healthy personal and professional life?
