Here’s a quick exercise for your Monday. Take a look at your meeting schedule for today and ask yourself if you would rather attend your team meeting, or bag it and go see the latest movie release as a matinee. Which would you choose?
The sad truth is that most would choose the matinee. Most team meetings are boring and resolve NOTHING. At least watching the matinee, the viewer sees what it looks like to really live. We see Hollywood tell the oldest story know to humankind, the story of the Hero’s Journey. This is “why” we go to the Rave Theatre. Oh yeah, the popcorn and sugar’s good. But seeing some inner conflict resolved is better than butter. Seeing some team come together and cross their “Delaware,” even better. Freakin’ magic.
