Today was really cool. Today, I had a front row seat at an orderly transition of power. Today, took a long time to come. Many months of building and many hours of agonizing, finally paid off. This is simply the way it works. Transitions of power take time and real, hard work. They do NOT happen overnight, nor do they occur without difficult decisions along the way.
Today, I witnessed firsthand why we love building high performance individuals and high performance teams. AND, why we build the next generation before we transition power.
Most systems do none of the above. Most simply survive. Most systems do not live beyond the founder. Most do not transition well, if at all. The reason is simple. Most humans put off the real, hard work. Most leaders rationalize that the next generation will “somehow” just figure it out on their own. Most, however, do NOT. Instead, most slowly die…
This one will be different. This one is becoming ONE. The hard work being done by the head and by the next generation will pay dividends well into the future. I can hardly wait to see this teams future.
