WWW this. . .another one “L” of a difference

At BUILT TO LEAD, our purpose is to transform collections of inviduals, teams & leaders from being ALONE to becoming ALL ONE.    There is literally one “L” of a difference between the two — and the “L” stands for LOVE.     Teams & leaders who love what they do, why & how they do it, and who they work with attain the highest sustainable levels of performance and satisfaction in work & life.  

Fear is the enemy of love & trust.   Fear is why 360 feedback usually feels like a shovel to the face, because you as the leader learn just how little you can take people on your team at their WORD.    Like Chet wrote last week:

“Your team mostly lies to YOU.  Your team is not married even to truth in anger, much less truth in LOVE. Your team, yes your team, is married to “spinning some kinda shit” and they’ve been mastering this craft for so long that they don’t even recognize that they’re addicted to holding back, giving partial facts, and fake smiling their way forward.  Where, by the way, did they learn this trick?  Moving on…”

Let’s not move on.   Your team learned this trick through mastering the logic of the WORLD.    The B.S. they earned in College became the cornerstone of their carefully groomed resume, where what to say (and not say) got them through their hiring interview.    No surprise that as professionals, their monthly reports and annual self-evaluation are more of the same.   Their B.A. got them hired, but it’s their C.Y.A. that keeps them from getting fired.

Sadly this is our predominant world-wide WORLDVIEW.   How ironic that WWW stands for “world-wide web.”   Have you been ensnared by the logic of the WORLD, or is your WORD simple, unvarnished truth?   There’s literally one “L” of a difference between the two, only this time the “L”  is for LIE.

This is why a strong CORE is essential.  Do you know what you believe?    Or is fear causing you and your team to be a people of the lie?    

So www this. . .build your worldview and make your word the difference in your world.    As you become BUILT TO LEAD, you will speak the truth in love, and you will root out the fear and the lying on your team.   In doing so you will transform a collection of individuals, teams and leaders in your system from being ALONE into ALL ONE.
