Problem child…

Want a stronger marriage?  Want better relationships with your children?  Want a stronger, more resilient collection of individuals, teams, and leaders at your place called work?  Who doesn’t?  The recipe is easier and harder than you think…

Build a more well defined CORE. Focus on your “interior space,” your CORE. This is not a selfish act.  This is mental health 101 and is the recipe for “dealing” with the shit storm that is coming your way, assuming it hasn’t already arrived.  If you think you are not the problem, if you think that your CORE is already a six pack of pure power, and if you think your life would be so different if it weren’t for your “problem child,” please keep reading.

You do not need to learn the latest form of self help, you don’t need to specialize in coping with substance abusers, you don’t need to understand the latest thinking around clinical depression, and you don’t need to become an expert in whatever problem your “problem child” of the moment, is overwhelmed by.  You just don’t.

The strongest families, and the strongest teams are lead by a well defined, CORE centered leader that is able to navigate their way forward through turbulent times guided by their CORE purpose while maintaining their CORE principles.  These CORE centered leaders bury their anxiety,  their desire to fix others in their system and do what all of us wishes we could do in our moments of truth; simply STAND.

We think that we need more technique and more training in the complexities of others and their problems.  We are watering the wrong thoughts.  You are your real problem child and I am mine.  Leading Chet Scott is Chet Scott’s greatest leadership challenge.  It just is.

Build your CORE now.  Stop putting this off because it is too hard.  Is it really easier trying to build, fix, navigate, and worry about every other problem child in your world?

God, help me build my CORE so strong that today, in the shit storm I’m in, you’ll see me.  I’ll be the guy taking a STAND.

God, help me face my real problem child…

If you want more help on building your CORE, search CORE on the blog and read on, contact one of the BTL builders, and get ready for some REAL, HARD, WORK.

Your family, friends, and clients are counting on you.  They don’t need you to fix them but they would sure LOVE to see someone so close by, take a STAND.

Who knew fixing our problem child could be so easy and so hard.  Who knew?
