Pascal’s gift…

Today’s practice, the first one for this client and his team, was filled with lots of learning.  It just was.

We learned how to speak and listen AND we learned how to read and write, BUILT TO LEAD style.   We learned how to unclog the arteries that exist between every group of people.  We learned about each other.  We learned about the power and the problem of our biggest motivator; FEAR.

We learned that we don’t break our old habits, we simply replace them with better ones.  We learned the power of the question and that we are all prone to commentate instead.  We learned that we have more in common with our fellow humans than we have differences.  We learned that the greatest gift we can give to any and all is really simple, really hard, costs us nothing, and can only be given when we truly have it in our possession.  The gift?

As Pascal said so many moons ago, “I give you the gift of these four words.  I believe in YOU.”

AND, we learned that telling the truth is hard.  We will learn that hearing the truth is even harder…

Today’s practice reminded us and brought a little more clarity to some things that we already thought that we knew.  Funny, huh.

Today I practiced with a bunch of people that I just met at 7:30 this morning.  Why does it feel like I’ve known them for so much longer?
