Nothing worth possessing has ever been given, it has to be earned. This is not an absolute truth, it’s close though.
This morning a client was complaining that the CEO hasn’t noticed his great work and given him his due. I challenged him to productively rebel. His response was that he couldn’t do that, and that it wasn’t his place. He just wanted me to make it happen for him.
I reminded him of his heritage. All Americans come from a stock of productive rebels. Freedom wasn’t given to us, our forefathers earned it. The same will be true for you.
