M&M, Taylor, and me…

Today, one of my oldest clients (M&M) and my youngest son pushed, pulled, planked, jumped, burpeed, curled, and squatted together.  We hit it hard, together for about 40 minutes of acute pain.  My son inspired us to do some one armed pullups which M&M nailed.  He just did.  Me, not so much.

After we caught our breath, M&M pulled me aside to tell me how much fun that was and to read me a little Tolstoy.  I kid you NOT.

He felt that this time was even more fun than usual.  Yes, he’s weird.  He always thinks this acute pain is fun stuff.  Me, not so much.  He told me that this 3P version was more fun because my youngest son was with us.  Of course, on that point, he was right.  Taylor pushed and inspired us.  He just did.

After M&M hit the trail and as he was headed to the showers, Taylor told me that he too felt today’s 3P’s were better.  I looked at him and, with more than a hint of disbelief, asked him what made this one better.  “I don’t know,” he said.  “I guess having M&M with us just made it better.”  Of course, on that point, he was right.  M&M pushed and inspired us.  He just did.  AND, I am a lucky man.  I just am…

M&M, Taylor, and me.  Together we improve.

Does it get any better?

God, thank you for simple and searing kairos moments with my family, friends, and clients.

God, thank you…

  1. Thank you.
I felt teh same way too.
    Together we grow.
I can not do it myself.
Most always after our visits, no matter what we happen to be doing, I am usually tired, inspired, and have more energy than what I came with.
    Funny paradox?
    You are a great put’er together’er / connector.
    Thank you.
    With gratitude, MM
