Today, I’m facilitating two different team practices. I don’t think I’ve ever done this before. I tend to be totally wasted after facilitating one, so today should be interesting 🙂 At the moment, I’m in between and catching some energy before heading toward practice number two.
Learning was all over the map from this mornings practice but here was what hit me the hardest. I had the team read page 138 of the 8 followed by page 136-137. Almost none of them noticed the word change that makes a world of difference. Here it is. Don’t miss this. This could be HUGE.
Transformational leaders are both “Curious George” AND “My Way IS The Highway.”
Do you see it?
What is the norm?
What is the difference?
Why do leaders tend to think they are saying “IS” and we as followers tend to hear “OR.”
Why does this word change make a world of difference?
Why do we need others and their perspectives to notice this kinda nuance?
Why?
Tell me more, my friend.
Tell me more…

Nice “Smiley Face” icon, Chester! Man, you are becoming a real tech whiz!
Hope you were wearing a similar face after your full day.
Lastly, I thought the key word on pages 136-138 was “AND”…
Thanks Sully. I LOVE your perspective on the AND. This is HUGE too. I guess understanding all the words and applying them wisely is the real key. Funny, I was attempting to make it so simple…
