Are you tired…

Young Life Camp day 5. Miss and I were up at 6 bells making 740 egg sandwiches for 600 high school kids and their college leaders. This was the first “real work” we’ve done since we arrived here back on Sunday. We’ve mostly been observing, from the shadows, this whole process they call YL.

It is amazing.

Here’s the biggest conclusion to date that might apply to you and your work. Do NOT miss this. This could be HUGE.

The YL leaders start early and go late. They model the way, embrace pain and suffering, and embody truth in LOVE. They just do. Yesterday alone they shared the truth about their struggles, allowed their teens to “dunk them,” took pies in the face, climbed on ropes above 30 feet off the ground, zipped into the water from 200 feet while in the dark, allowed their teens to experience freedom while being safe, ran them back and forth to more activities than I could count, and showed them LOVE and care throughout.

The name of Jesus was used properly. It justwas. And, each teenager was challenged to discover their name in the safety of numbers and in the solitude of nature. And here’s the amazing piece. After day 5 that has seen leaders start early and end ridiculously late, there is NO energy shortage.

No energy shortage.

OPUS.

Hard labor, as you tire, you will disdain. Hard OPUS, as you tire, you will sustain.

Remember, OPUS is the one you want.

Are you tired?

How’s your attitude?

Tell me more, my friend.
