Make the move…

Self control comes in dead last when normal humans are asked to describe their greatest “character strengths.”  We see ourselves as honest (even though we all lie).  We see ourselves as kind (even though we all have a mean streak).  We see ourselves as funny (even though few of us are).  We see ourselves as courageous (even though almost none of us consistently STANDS up to our boss, our brother, or anybody that could be a bother).  We see ourselves  as modest and are even proud of it…

We are delusional about how we see ourselves, that much is for certain.  However, we consistently see at least one fact about ourselves, we lack self control.

Want more?

Simply follow this formula.  Move from your natural state toward  your second nature.  Here’s what I mean.  We all come into the world self centered and other controlling.  This is normal.  Study babies and you’ll see this is FACT.  We cry to get what we want and we start out thinking and believing that we are the center of the universe.  We are naturally self centered and other controlling.  Make sense?

Want a normal life, stick to your default nature.  And, in the words of Sponge-Bob, “good luck with that.”

Your second nature has to built if you want more. Excellence requires that we become CORE centered and self controlling. This is why we begin all our work, at BTL, around assisting our family, friends, and clients in their most important construction zone, their interior space. Want a great work and life? STOP being normal…

Build your CORE and build your self control. Identify your demon and take it on. Look in the mirror and see where you are out of control and face it. You are not meant to act like a baby or like your narcissitic neighbor. You are meant to be strong and mature through the trials and troubles that come. You are meant to STAND and lose the need to broadcast the fact that you’re standing.

A great beginning place for exerting more self control would be in finishing what many have started and few ever finish, authoring the melody line of BTL. Authoring your CORE, OPUS, and PoPing it with discipline.

You choose.  Your choices have consequences.
