Prisoners, cyclist, monitoring and the power of clarity…

Here is an unintended consequence of spending time in prison. Prisoners lose a ton when they lose their freedom. What do they gain?

Weight.

Why?

They are forced to wear loose fitting clothes. Tight fitting jeans are a great source of feedback.

Why do my cycling buddies keep asking me to bring clarity to our Spring cycling trip?

Clear goals keep us going. When we can’t see the shore, we give in to temptation and, oftentimes, we give up.

Building discipline is really important and really tough to do. Want more? Figure out how to “self monitor” and set yourself up to have others monitor you too. Write out your big dream so it’s clear, sticky, and big enough to fuel you through lifes winter season. Today, in the 3PP, at the crack of dawn, two of my truth tellers told me to get my hips down and my shoulders up. I did. I could feel the difference. I had no idea.

Monitoring fuels motivation.

Clarity of the shore fuels inspiration.

Discipline requires the “and.”

Where do you want more discipline? How are you monitoring yourself? How are others helping monitor? What keeps you swimming toward your shore?

Tell me more, my friend.

Tell me more…
