Today I told one of my clients a story about driving as fast as you can around mid-ohio race track. Never let the car behind you dictate your speed when you’re just starting out. We extrapolated this to his work and to those trying to push him to go fast before he knows “the racing line,” so to speak.
I helped some phone sales folks find their voice too. My two cents was, remember that you are calling to help them. Don’t call unless you believe this. And, I told one to take more risks, one to lay back in his seat, and one to just keep making the phone curls. They were all better than they knew and I tried to get them to believe that too.
And, I helped another see their addiction and discover its root.
I slowed them all down. I pointed them back to the power of their OPUS, if they had already authored it. And told them why we will, if they hadn’t yet.
I helped another client do some repair work and took the time to help my son climb the stairs to his apartment. I shared a meal with Miss and Andrew in the Short North and talked to an old friend from far away. I made some final arrangements for attending my friends movie premier and shared some laughs with a few construction workers.
And, I let Churpee, Nate the late, JLO, and Chambermaid suffer beside me for 30 minutes of acute pain in the 3PP.
Tonight, I’ll be in the Scott kitchen sipping a Cab while Miss throws something amazing together. She and I will watch some college hoops and hope for a Misery loss to the Mildcats. We’ll have a little fire going and we’ll have our dawg between us, beside us, and bringing us a ball.
Another day aligned with my OPUS. It may not sound llike much to most. It sounds like a masterpiece to me. Make that freakin’ MAGIC, to me…

This is your OPUS and it’s what you dreamed about 20 years ago, transforming lives and helping people find their passion, purpose and magic!! It sounds BIG to me and something we can all have if we are willing to make the choices.
