The power of the few…

My clients eyes widened as he showed me his prized piece of property and we imagined five homes and their rooms with a view.  Magic.

The cameras were rolling at another clients headquarters this week.  He’s living out his OPUS and instead of helping him get his first deals done, I’m trying to rein him in.  His first two projects are going better than anybody could have imagined.  He is quickly learning to say no to good projects so he can say yes once or twice.  Who knew…

Today another client simply told his story to his potential employer.  He told the truth.  He shared his OPUS and took their questions.  We both think he’s found the next expression and it’s going to be magic.

My phone rang this afternoon, twice.  Both times I heard squeels of pure joy.  One was giddy that her OPUS was given wings by her leaders.  One was giddy that his associate had the guts to go for it.  Magic.

I’ve been working in my Opus for ten years now.  It’s been a beautiful struggle up to this point.  Not a struggle in the worlds sense.  I’ve been blessed with more work than I can do since BTL was founded.  However, until this year, I’ve hardly had an engagement that met my expectations. Most of my former clients have been one HUGE disappointment for me. They didn’t become BTL and mostly quit because I couldn’t convince them that they were rounding the bend.

Suddenly, and much to my surprise, I’ve been blessed with engagement after engagement that is lighting it up. I can’t explain the cause but I can feel the difference. And, they can too.

Build your CORE.  Author your OPUS.  And, embrace the struggle.  There are no shortcuts to this process and it’s non linear by nature.  Your breakthroughs will come if you don’t quit and lose heart along the way.
