The opposite of fear is NOT the absence of fear. Fearless we will not become. Today in practice 28 with the team of 7, I gave them a reminder of sorts. I reminded them to build their core and their CORE. Together we invested ten minutes building the former and ninety the later. Good ratio too.
And, I reminded them of the most frequent command in the Bible. Do you know it? It’s a good one. The most frequent command is “Fear NOT.” I think it’s really cool this is the most frequent command. The Bible goes on to describe God in a word. God, in a word, is LOVE. Full circle we have gone. Quick trip too. The opposite of fear in not the absence of fear. Nope, its not. The opposite of fear is LOVE.
The next time you feel fear grip you by the throat when you have something important to say, or you feel fear causing your knees to shake as you prepare to walk out on the high dive, or you feel fear grip your hands as you prepare to attack the pin from two hundred yards away, take a deep breath and remind yourself of why you are here, remind yourself what love compels you. Once you change your minds focus from fear to love, your body will simply follow suit. Your mind will begin by relaxing your facial muscles and slowly work its way down. Within seconds you will be ready to perform. Your fear will be overcome with your love. How cool is that.
Very cool, my friend. Very cool…

Good reminder, Toto — way to pull back the curtain on the dreaded F-bomb! And if fear is a feeling that arises involuntarily when confronted by some kind of adversity, setting your mind on LOVE will produce another feeling that arises involuntarily…peace & poise. Where we set our minds and where we focus makes all the difference — and it is a CHOICE cultivated either by a weak core or a strong one. My biggest REAL “ene-ME” is within.
