Yesterday, during rinse number 14 of an already clear OPUS, clarity really came into focus. Most folks won’t notice the nuance that had my client smiling with silent satisfaction. Remember, we aren’t interested in most folks. A few will take this change to heart starting with the heart of the author.
Nothing changed in his O. His P stayed put. Unifying strategies nada. The scorecard for significance, however, changed ever so slightly. A small tweak led to clarity we could both embrace. Small tweaks matter. This is why we keep rinsing and fight the urge to settle for good enough. Settling is the enemy…
My own OPUS has been no different. Years ago I thought I had clarity. However, during another rinse with the BTL band a small tweak changed everything. Will not everything, but you know what I mean. The change had to do with the BTL P (purpose). The tweak resulted in the following purpose:

All that changed was the addition of the words, distinct and deeply connected. However small this may seem, this has led a number of my clients to understand with specificity what oneness is and what it is NOT. FM, baby. Authoring your OPUS is a life-long search for your words, your clarity, your way. Clarity matters. Only those that are clear carry on when adversity strikes, when busyness crowds, and when seasons change without warning. Yesterday, painstaking clarity came to a CEO. His silent smile signaled his belief. Soon his team will connect to his clarity. Yes, leaders are believers. However, the ones we remember are connectors too.
