Thanks for the loan…

Today was another freakin’ magic day at BTL. 8bells rolled around and practice 52 with a team of 13 did as well. Amazing. Noon brought a beautiful bike ride on a fall like day. The afternoon was announced with practice 66. A team of twelve was magic because the Churp forced the issue. He asked the team to tell him more and they did. An outsider came to play and nobody missed a beat. FM, baby.

However, August 14, 2013 will always be seared in my memory for something much closer to home. Today, you see, our son started his senior year in high school. Today kinda marks the beginning of something I do NOT want to end. Damn. Why is it that the best things in life are on loan?

Today, Taylor began his senior year and I’m really frickin’ sad about it. I’m depressed even though I know this is all part of the plan. Today, I don’t want to hear about the plan.

Tay came home from soccer practice all good. We talked some soccer, some school, and some injuries. He’s feeling pretty good. And, he informed us that his “small group” is coming here tonight. Suddenly my spirit lifted. His Bible study is coming here, I thought. My son, the senior, is starting his senior year by having five of his friends over to our house to tie one on studying the Bible and encouraging each other. Are you kidding me. Nope, I’m not…

My depression has lifted. My spirit has soared. My son is not normal. My son is freakin’ magic.

God, bless Taylor and his friends. God, thank you for marrying the bitter with the sweet. God, thank you for sending us number four, number three (Krits), number two, and number one.

God, thanks. Thanks for the loan…
